This is in the New York Times today.

Bombing soon! In a town near you! Good god. What I don’t understand is this: how can we just show up in a place and start bombing? I’m really not sure how that works. Do we continue to give ultimatums, like we did in Afghanistan? Give us your terrorists or we’ll bomb you?

I just wonder when we’re going to go after the IRA…. Or the Michigan Militia. Seriously, how far is Bush going to take this? And how do we justify this kind of blatant militarism over something that is so nebulous as terrorism (just remember…if the Brits had stuck around during the American Revolution, those colonists would likely be remembered as the Timothy McVeighs of the colonies….)?

It makes me sick to this that this is what passes for diplomacy in the Bush administration. Why the hell even have a Secretary of State? Oh. Wait. Our Secretary of State is a General with some pretty interesting little secrets of his own….
