I should go to bed. I really should.

I have to say this, though:

I have created a monster this semester. I’m currently grading an essay where a student of mine is discussing the demonization of George III during the American Revolution, and she seems actually to be a little bit upset about a factoid I tossed out: when the colonies rebelled, they did so against an elected parliament.

Now, they certainly weren’t the parliament of the masses (that wouldn’t happen until the 19th century), but they were elected.

ok. That exam is going to happen in just a few hours.
